28 October 2009

cosmetic skincare+ making – When you think of beauty tips, do you think of the sweet stuff? Just for starters, I know I like to have a nice chocolate facial. Then there are the sweet things like vanilla steams, spice wraps and sugar scrubs.

All that stuff tends to be expensive. The last spa visit I had cost me way over 150 dollars But you can, fortunately, give yourself the same sweet treatments at home with these beauty tips. The main ingredient for these mouthwatering facials and masques? Honey, of course.

Here are just a few home-uses for honey that will have you feeling absolutely luscious in no time:

* Honey Do Beauty Tip #1: Be bubblicious. - A cup of honey in your bubble bath leaves skin feeling soft and smooth. If you want an extra glow to you skin, exfoliate with a loofah while in the tub. Add 4 tablespoons of whole milk powder and feel just like Cleopatra, who used milk baths to keep her skin clear. Of course, any time you bathe in any edible product, be sure to rinse down extra well afterwards.

* Beauty Tips Using Honey #2: Use layers. - A really great egg white masque can be made by whipping egg whites, a tablespoon of honey and a tad bit of flour or unsweetened cocoa together until they make a thick paste. Your pores need to be open first by putting a hot wash cloth on your face for 3 minutes. Then smooth the mask on. Let it sit for 10 minutes. Your skin will be fresh and youthful after your remove the mask with warm water.

* Honey Do Beauty Tip #3: Make your own silky-skin toner. - Honey, buttermilk and rosewater mixed together can do wonders for your skin. A Tupperware with a screw-on lid works great. Thoroughly blend by shaking together really good. It will be runny and a cloudy color. Dab a cotton ball in it and apply for tight, toned skin.

The best honey should be used for these treatments. You can get a nice size jar of organic honey for much less than 20 dollars. Use this jar of honey for these beauty tips for a good while.
