Impressions of Fine Art Nature Photography

8 January 2010

One incredible thing about fine art nature photography is all that it can inspire . You see a photo of a majestic vista and it is as if you’re really there – you seem to be a part of it – you are in awe of its wonder . And that is the impression photographers really want to instill in viewers who see their photos .

Impressions that fine art nature photography makes on an individual is subjective as photography happens to be. If several people view the very same photograph of fine art, they all may get a different impression . This photography can make a bad impression on one person , a great impression on another and the third person’s impression could be indifferent .

Take a photo of a duck in its natural habitat . One person takes a look and quickly makes a comment on the lovely color of the wings . Perhaps how the reflection of the duck is clear and crisp that it seems there’s another duck right there . Those drops of water that cling to the duck look like many little diamonds lying on the brown feathers of the duck . Now, the second person looks at the fine art nature photo of the duck and comments that the water looks dirty and that the duck is looking sad. And the third person may simple shrug their shoulders and say … “it’s a duck.”

Of course, a fine art photographer of nature hopes the photo makes more of an impression than a comment that “it is a duck” and a shrug of the shoulders. Of course, this is how photography of nature can leave an impression – subjective, open, and honest. For those who are nature enthusiasts, this type of photography is embedded in their life .

Fine art nature photography lets viewers travel to that place. If you look at a photograph of huge waves breaking on the rocks for awhile, you feel like you are there – you can almost feel the breeze , hear the water and smell the salt when it hits those craggy rocks. This is the very way people should be impressed with a piece of nature photography.

Our lives include fine art photographs of nature by hanging them on the wall at home, they are used as screen savers , and they even are put on t-shirts to wear. Impressions that come along with fine art nature photography – whether indifferent, bad, or good – allows us to form our own opinions about what we like and dislike . They make an impression that is everlasting .
