When movie stars appeared in periodic publications, glamour photography techniques usually aimed its attention on the theme and used angles and light to make people more attractive. During World War II pictures of pin-ups of scantily clad females was used to supposedly peak the troops’ interests and give them something to look forward to on their return home. Periodic publications that presented some types of glamour photography techniques at the beginning created controversy and some were considered to have adult content. While still using lighting and posing to emphasize the model’s appeal, the model’s form was still meant to be the main focus of the picture.

Moving apart from artistic or nude photography, glamour photography techniques tried to imply the nudity, instead of using people without clothes. Most of the times, in this pictures, men and women gave the clue that they were using fewer clothes, attracting attention to the form and leaving the conclusions to the thinking of the people.

In a lot of glamour photography workrooms, disguises are used to cover some parts of the person who is modeling, and this gives the impression that the model has few clothes on. This is intended to increase the appeal of the model while maintaining their so-called dignity. Cosmetics and special hair designs are often included in glamour photography to make the model appear as celebrity or as a real life model. While predominantly used by females, there are many males that also participate in these photo sessions to use as a gift for a loved one.

A lot of glamour photography workrooms are available to visit different places and take pictures; they travel with people that take care of cosmetics and hair, and also outfits for all people. After the work is completed, the photographs are sent to the customers and they can see themselves in a professional way.

A lot of things can be done in the process in order to change the look of the model in the completed picture and remove imperfections so that the photograph has more quality and is more valuable.
